Chapter 4:【Promise of the Dawn】
The sky by the sea was beginning to be dyed in a pale peach color. Saya stood at the water’s edge with the blanket still draped over her shoulders.

The waves lapping at her feet and receding seemed to announce the beginning of a new time. “The sunrise is so beautiful‚ isn’t it?” Yuto stood beside her and said quietly. “Yeah. Maybe I couldn’t see it until yesterday.” “Then‚ from today on‚ let’s watch it together. As many times as you want.” Saya touched the ring. The cool silver sensation felt pleasant now. It wasn’t something given to her by someone else‚ but something she had chosen herself. “Hey‚ Yuto.” “Yes?” “I want to change‚ even if it’s little by little. Not by relying on someone‚ but so I can walk on my own.” “I’d be happy if I could be by your side on that walk.” “…Thank you.” When they returned to the car‚ Yuto took out a paper bag from the back seat. Inside were sandwiches bought at the convenience store and warm canned coffee. “Breakfast is simple‚ but—” “It’s more than enough. I like this kind of thing.” The two sat on the car’s hood and ate while gazing at the morning sea.

There were few words‚ but the silence was no longer lonely. Around the time they finished eating‚ Saya’s smartphone vibrated. On the screen‚ a message from him was displayed. “Long time no see. Are you doing well?” Saya stared at those words for a while. Then‚ she gently turned the smartphone face down. “I think it’s okay now.” “…Yeah.” “This weekend is mine‚ after all.” Yuto smiled and started the car’s engine. On the way back‚ it felt like it would be okay to take a bit of a detour.
Chapter 5:【By the Window on Monday】
Monday morning. Saya woke up to the sound of her alarm as usual. However‚ something felt different. The air in the room felt a little lighter. The light coming in from the window seemed softer than yesterday.

While fixing her hair in front of the mirror‚ Saya noticed the silver ring shining on her finger. It was something she received on the weekend night. But it wasn’t just a memento. It had a certain weight in her heart. When she arrived at work‚ she booted up her computer as usual and checked her emails. She overheard her colleagues’ conversations. Stories about the weekend‚ dates with lovers‚ time with family. Saya smiled a little. She was happy that she too had a weekend she could talk about. During lunch break‚ Yuto came to her desk. “Would you like to have lunch together?” “Yeah‚ let’s go.” The two quietly had lunch at a nearby café.

The topics were all trivial‚ but Saya’s heart was calm. “Thank you for the weekend.” “Same here. That night was special for me too.” “…From now on‚ will you be by my side not just on weekends‚ but on weekdays too?” Yuto widened his eyes in slight surprise but nodded immediately. “Of course. If the weekend ring becomes a daily promise‚ there’s nothing that could make me happier.” Saya turned her gaze outside the window. The wind passed through the gaps between buildings‚ and the sounds of the city echoed from afar. She was no longer spending weekends just waiting for someone. At the end of the path she had chosen and started walking on her own‚ someone was there beside her. Just that made the world a little kinder.
Chapter 6:【Swaying Shadows‚ Certain Light】
Tuesday afternoon. Saya was walking through the Ginza office district for the first time in a while on an outside sales job. The autumn wind passed through the gaps between buildings‚ swaying her hair. Suddenly‚ she spotted a familiar back view across the intersection. A man in a suit. His way of walking‚ the tilt of his shoulders‚ the gesture of holding the smartphone to his ear. —It was him.

Saya’s heart skipped a beat. She stopped involuntarily and caught her breath. After finishing his call‚ he turned his gaze toward her as if noticing. “…Saya?” “…Long time no see.” A few seconds of silence. Then‚ he smiled. “You look well. I was thinking of contacting you‚ but the timing wasn’t right.” “I see…” Saya quietly slipped her left hand into her pocket. It wasn’t that she didn’t want him to see the ring. She just didn’t think there was a need to show it. “Can we talk slowly next time?” “…Sorry. I don’t think there’s anything left to talk about.” “I see. …You’ve changed.” “Yeah. Just a little.” He nodded without saying anything and walked away. Saya watched his back as he left. Her heart was calmer than she had expected.

That night‚ she met up with Yuto at a café in front of the station. She was hesitating whether to tell him about what happened during the day. “Did something happen?” Yuto asked. Saya hesitated a little before nodding. “Today‚ I ran into my ex-boyfriend.” “…I see.” “But strangely‚ I didn’t feel shaken at all. Rather‚ I felt like it was properly over.” Yuto lowered his eyes slightly and then took Saya’s hand.

“That’s good then. If you’ve been able to move forward‚ that’s enough to make me happy.” Saya squeezed his hand back as if to show the ring. “This ring has become my light. Thank you‚ Yuto.” Outside the café window‚ the autumn night wind enveloped the city. The past had passed by‚ and the future was still distant. But at this very moment‚ it was certainly warm.
Chapter 7:【Weekday Light‚ Weekend Seed】
Wednesday afternoon. Saya stood by the office window‚ looking up at the sky outside.

The clear autumn sky was high and cloudless. Suddenly‚ she recalled the seaside on the weekend. The wind that night‚ the sound of the waves‚ and the warmth of Yuto’s fingertips. “Saya-san‚ can I consult with you a bit about the project proposal?” She turned around at the junior colleague’s voice. “Yeah‚ sure. Let’s talk in the meeting room.” Work was busy. However‚ her heart was calmer than before. The feeling of standing on her own two feet instead of being swayed by someone. It was like a small seed that had sprouted on the weekend night. In the evening‚ a message from Yuto arrived. “Today I’ll be a bit late‚ but can we meet at the station on the way home?” Saya immediately replied‚ “Yeah‚ I’ll be waiting.” While waiting for him on the station bench‚ Saya opened her notebook. There were words she had written on the weekend.
Those words were supporting her now. Yuto appeared around the time the night curtain had fallen. “Sorry to keep you waiting. Sorry for being late.” “No‚ I didn’t mind waiting.” Walking side by side‚ the two stopped by a small bakery in front of the station.

“I like the cheese bread here.” “Then‚ let’s eat it together on weekend morning.” The weekend wasn’t just special nights; it was spreading to quiet mornings as well. Saya thought while touching the ring. This bond isn’t just for the weekends. It’s properly growing even in the light of weekdays.
